Dedicated to the memory of Carolyn Margetson
This site is a tribute to Carolyn (Grandma, mum). She is much loved by her family, her partner Michael, and many friends. She will always be remembered.
Mum loved her ballet and tap, cooking, entertaining, socialising, drinking tea, reading, poetry, Thomas Hardy, nature, walking in the local countryside and the Cotswolds with Michael. She was also very partial to a nice glass of kir royale, Pimms or a G and T!
Mum passed away in Wexham Park Hospital on 10th October 2019 following a diagnosis of ovarian cancer in November 2016.
We are grateful to Professor Marcia Hall and her Oncology team at Mount Vernon Hospital, the many nurses on the chemo ward there, and mum's clinical trial nurse, Julie, who built up an instant rapport with mum.

Target Ovarian Cancer was an invaluable source of information for us. They provide support and information to women with ovarian cancer and their carers. They also work to improve earlier diagnosis, fund life-saving research, and campaign for better availability of drugs and other treatments.
Macmillan provides cancer information and support and funds thousands of specialist cancer nurses in the UK. They sponsor the palliative care team on the Eden cancer ward at Wexham Park Hospital. Together with the wonderful nursing staff on the ward, they cared for mum and were a great source of comfort and support to us too.
